Is My Pet Having an Emergency?
Emergencies can look different for every pet, so it can be difficult to know if your pet is having an emergency and requires attention from an emergency vet. Here are some common pet emergencies:
- Difficulty breathing
- Bleeding from the mouth, nose, eyes, or ears
- Continuous vomiting/diarrhea
- Bloody vomit, stool, or urine
- Disorientation
- Attacked by a wild animal
- Traumatic injury (i.e. hit by a car)
- Sudden collapse or unconsciousness
- Toxin ingestion
- Seizures
- Pressing head against a wall or other surface
